In Delhi, the capital of India, Steven and his team design unexpected blends of scents that embody sophistication and timeless luxury. Born in France into a family of artists working in the fashion world, Steven developed a deep passion for perfumes, spices, natural oils, and incense from an early age. He translated the sensibility and vision inherited from his olfactory memories and childhood experiences into the world of perfumery. His objective was to create fragrances inspired by his own cultural heritage, fragrances that tell a story.

In Steven Jacob’s laboratory, perfume is perceived as a journey. At Steven Jacob’s perfume studio, we believe in the power of fantasy, the ability to generate emotions that transport the senses into pure feeling and memory. Like our insignia, a crowned winged serpent shaped into the elegant curve of the letter “S”, the symbol blends personal identity with timeless mythology, elegantly capturing the essence of the brand’s name. Representing wisdom, resilience, and transformation, the emblem reflects our vision of fragrances that are sophisticated, mysterious, and spiritual. The crowned winged serpent was chosen for its uniqueness and elusiveness. Unlike the serpent in the Garden of Eden, who was condemned to crawl upon the earth, our majestic imaginary creature possesses wings, granting it the freedom to move across both land and sky.
This symbolic being can perceive scents carried through the air as well as those rooted in the earth itself. The serpent also symbolizes healing, much like fragrance itself, intoxicating yet restorative. This echoes the biblical image of Moses raising the bronze serpent to heal the Israelites (Numbers 21:8–9). Like the finest perfumes, the serpent in Genesis is associated with temptation, knowledge, and the allure of the forbidden. Perfume, with its intoxicating scent, symbolizes seduction and desire, echoing the serpent’s role in awakening both physical and spiritual awareness.
Moreover, the serpent’s wings suggest elevation, a symbol of spiritual ascent and a bridge between earth and sky, much like fragrance itself transcends the ordinary. From a feared creature to a magnificent symbol, the serpent reveals the hidden nature of existence.
